How do I share my story?
You will meet with a facilitator in a comfortable setting either face-to-face or via Zoom for an audio recorded interview for a maximum of two hours. During the interview session you will be asked a series of questions that allow your life story to unfold.
The interview will be captured via audio recording software and the resulting audio file will be copied to a USB drive. The USB drive will be provided to you for you to share as you wish.
What is the role of the facilitator?
The facilitator will ask you a series of questions. After each question, she will listen openly, empathetically, without interruption or judgment. The facilitator will provide a safe space for you to allow the unfolding of your life story to take place. The facilitator will guard your privacy. You are in control of what you share in response to each question.
What are some sample interview questions?
- Tell me about your parents. Where were they born? What memories do you have of them?
- What were your dreams and goals for your life when you graduated high school?
- What job did you do most of your life? What did you like most about it?
- How do you feel about growing older?
- Is there something about your faith in particular that you would like to pass along?
What is the cost?
The cost to capture and preserve your story is $75 for an interview via Zoom and $95 for an in-person interview. The costs include the participant interview session and all technology required to capture and retain the recording. The extra in-person interview cost covers local travel to the participant’s preferred location.
